The funding is open exclusively to Black heritage staff who want to develop their clinical research career. It offers the full costs of a Masters in Science or equivalent postgraduate qualification, mentoring and support from Research & Innovation.
This new scholarship is designed to support the training and development of early-career clinical researchers from Black backgrounds. At least one scholarship will be awarded each year after a competitive selection process.
The launch of this scholarship is part of our commitment to promote greater equality, diversity and inclusion in clinical research, by recognising the disadvantages that Black people face due to discrimination.
This scholarship is open exclusively to those working in a healthcare, clinical research or related role within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) and who are from a Black heritage background.
The funding will help you to develop your skills and contribute to new knowledge in one of the research priorities for NUH. You will also be contributing to the research community and helping it to respond effectively to current and future challenges in clinical research.
The scholarship covers the costs of training, travel, and opportunities to begin developing your research career within NUH.
Interested applicants can submit an Expression of Interest online from Friday 28 October 2022. The information provided will enable Research & Innovation to provide guidance and where appropriate, ongoing application support.
All expressions of interest should be submitted no later than 4 January 2023. You should hear the outcome of your expression of interest by 31 January 2023.
Successful candidates will receive an award to cover the full costs of studies, travel and related expenses to support their research up to a maximum value of £500 per year of study.
